Kept asking for my name and talking over me until I lost my temper with him at which point he told me the call was being recorded. Like I care lol.

This number called me at 11:30 today. Caller said he was from Microsoft and told me my computer had been hacked. I asked him "which one, the one running Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows XP, or Winodws 7". He replied "XP" and asked me to turn it on. I refused, saying that I'd prefer to finish my cup of coffee, rather than let him scam me.

An Asian-sounding man got the answering machine but just kept saying 'Hello ... hello ... can you hear me?...' He then addressed me by name (which is not the name given on the answering machine) but he never said who HE was. He finished by saying it was 'very rude behaviour' - I assume he meant my behaviour (having an answering machine is rude?) rather than his.

I answered a guy calling himself Daniel from Microsoft two days ago. I asked him how could I know for sure he was from Microsoft ....prove he was from Microsoft he called out in detail a 32 digit licence code!!! I told him I was going to check that and he'd call back - he did, a short while ago. I asked him if he knew who he was speaking to and scarily he had our name, address and phone number correct!!!! When I told him that the computer was with the technician he tried to scare me by saying he was able to see that the computer was not being used and so they would be taking it down (or something to that effect). I responded I could not understand and hung up. Very menacing and aggressive.

Called me 7.30am Monday 30/10/17.He told me my computer was hacked yesterday! I asked who was calling he said his name was David from Microsoft Computer Services (asian accent). I asked him to repeat this information as my number is TPS registered. I asked where he got the number from and that I would be reporting to TPS. He did not know what TPS was so I told him he would be fined for calling me when my number does not appear on any sales list of phone numbers. He was very abusive he told me I needed to pay £3000 as my computer had been hacked. I told him I work in IT and he was talking rubbish, then put the phone down on him. Extremely abusive call dangerous to vulnerable people.

He then shouted a tirade of abuse down the phone , telling me I was f...ing rude and to f... off etc. I put the receiver down after telling him I would report him if he rang again.

His colleague then came on the line and said I was a troublemaker and that my wife hated me! At this point my wife burst out laughing and they hung up. Told me I was having lots of problems with my Windows PC. I am a computer support engineer so I kept him talking. Eventually he admitted that they install SYSKEY to lock non-payers out of their computers. SYSKEY is an old password system from the WindowsNT days, but still exists in Windows operating systems today. Once enabled you cannot start Windows without their password. Wouldn't tell me where they were but (by the delay in the voice system) I suggest it was a VOIP Call from India. Caller said they were from Microsoft windows Support

A man called 'Isaac' has phoned my 78 year old Dad several times at 9am saying that his computer is vulnerable. He offerred a deal of £7 to fix it online and tried talking him through what to do. Luckily my dad is not on the internet! 'Isaac' keeps ringing at the same time each day despite being told not to phone again! Managed to get this number by calling redial.

He told me to press the "Windows key" and the R button, which will take you to the "Run" window, then type "eventvwr" which takes you to the event viewer window. When he asked me what it now says on my screen, I said it says "F*%$ Off you scamming Cun%" and he immediatly hung up. Only managed to keep him on the line for 7 minutes 58 seconds. He gave me the CLSID which he said was unique to my computer but it isn't; CLSID={888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062} . He asked me to open type ASSOC in the CMD. This shows the CLSID. He asked me to type EVENTVWR,This shows an error log. All computers show errors. He asked me to type in www.support.ME in the browser which asks for a 6 digit code. At this point I told him that I had heard enough and was going to report him and hung up. To continue could be dangerous. I should have asked for the code to get it revoked. He then had the cheek to ring me back and asked why I had hung up and said I would be in serious trouble with the police for this. I said great, see you in court.

Got a call just now - didn't answer... but noticed that although the UK number appeared, it actually said "INTERNATIONAL" next to it - so I guess they are masking their incoming number to make it look like a UK number, This may be why BT can't (or don't) do anything... if it's coming from outside the UK but they have technology to mask their number on phones' caller ID systems, then BT probably can't do much about that. Anyway, I love some of the things people have been doing to make them wait on the line - I may have to give some of those a go if they try again! LOL!

These people are very convincing and persistent. Avoid any conversation and DO NOT USE/ TURN ON YOUR COMPUTER while talking to them. They'll say they're downloading software to remove viruses and anti hacking but they're the ones doing the hacking! Even had the gall to call back the following day on a different number 07896935343. The elderly person receiving this treatment is very distraught that they were 'taken in'. They thought that it was genuinely Microsoft because they knew the licence number. Their PC is now blocked because the hackers have put a password on it and won't tell them what it is unless they pay up.

Don't be fooled and never give then any details of your machine, if you do they can remote onto your machine!!!!!

This has now turned to the guy calling and claiming to be from the IRS (Internal Revenue Services), which is just shocking because we are in the UK but when he tells you it is the IRS i bet some people still refer to our tax system as the Inland Revenue Services. He will then try and convince you some more by giving you a Enrolment number and IRS number and try and get you to go to a website presumably to show you who he is. Please do not be fooled by this man as he tries to claim you owe taxes. He claims his Name is David Rich, clue is in the name!

As with some previous commenters, woman with Asian accent claiming to be from Windows support. I told her she was a fraudster and put phone down. She rang again almost immediately and asked why i had hung up, i yelled "because you are a fraudster and what you are doing is a criminal offence!" and hung up again, then dialed 1471 and found this number 01274 833005. My question is: does **anyone** know why BT hasnt blocked this number??? I dont understand why BT would let whoever is on this number just keep on using it to harass people in this way.

An Asian gentleman , saying I had a computer virus. I knew straight away it was fake as unfortunately I got caught out by this about a year ago. I am not great with technology , & was foolishly taken in by them as it sounded so legitimate. It was only after about an hour they said it would cost £350 to put the new software on my computer to get rid of the virus. It was then I realised something was not right. I phoned the police & was advised to get my computer repaired by reputable computer shop. Which I did. BT should be Barring this number.

Asian sounding man, claimed to be in Middle[moderated], but 01274 is Bradford and this is a fake number. Asked if he was ringing from India or Pakistanistan, he soon rang off. It was the usual rubbish about "Windows on your computer" which is obvious to anyone familiar with these scams, but could fool the unwary. I resisted the temptation to string him along for some time, then spell out a "message on my screen" telling me he was a scammer, as I'd other things to do. They don't like that, the angry response is usually that you're wasting their time, liberally punctuated with expletives, before slamming down the phone.

When I refused he said if I did not co operate then he has government approval to block my computer. I was on the phone about 20 mins debating with him and he got more and more angry as I was refusing to co operate. He said the call was being recorded and If I hung up my PC would be locked within 5 minutes. I can see how this would worry a lot of people who would then give in.

I told him when asked what I used my computer for that I use for flights to the moon and back, deep sea underwater exploration and use it for round the world cruises etc. I 'did what he said' and when he asked me what I was seeing on my screen I replied that there were martians, ghosties and all sorts on it. I then told him that I could play all day if he wanted to but then for some strange reason hung up on me. What a waste of space these oxygen thieves are! Why do they bother! Laughably, Planet Numbers have included on their Facebook Page an article from BT about record numbers of 'nuisance calls' in the U.K. Followed by a comment that:- 'Planet Numbers is proud to state that we will never make unsolicited calls of any nature.' Should have included that they are more than happy to facilities for overseas companies to make unsolicited calls using Virtual City dialling Codes for UK areas such as Bradford. This service is provided to companies overseas for as little as a £25.00 set up fee plus call charges by the minute.

A Company called 'Planet Numbers' offers a Bradford Dialing code to companies overseas who wish to 'appear to be dialling from the UK without their customers knowing they are abroad' - check it out on their website. The website also contains under 'meet the team' the mugshots of half a dozen of their 'employees'. Their office is based in Richmond Hill, Bournemouth so please, if you know the area, have a look to see if you recognise any of these individuals. If you do, please circulate their details and home phone numbers so that we can arrange a few 'nuisance call bombardments' of our own! Just off to check Companies House - perhaps I will find the company directors' personal details there. ??????

I repeated four times that I would need to pick up my other phone (I was cooking at the time but turned that off). Each time he got more insistent that I needed to change phones and he started to be insulting saying "don't you understand" etc. I then said "I understand perfectly but what you don't appear to understand is that my computer is in a different room and I need to go there and pick up the phone next to it so that I can do as you ask." Even though it's a Bradford number...he wouldn't say how he got my number and when I told him it sounded like a scam he got agitated, raised his voice and said he'd "block my computer so no-one can log in". When I asked him where he thought he was calling he got that wrong. When I asked to speak to his manager (basically, trying to waste his time now, no intention of having a discussion about a PC) he lost his temper. So I shouted back at him and ended the call. Although the number's now blocked I imagine these crooks will try from other numbers too.
